The sport of sculling is a low-impact, total body sport that can be learned at almost any age. A perfect addition to a healthy lifestyle, sculling gets you out on the water and in the fresh air. Sculling can be practiced in singles or in 2- or 4- person team boats. Advanced technique can take years to master but one can learn enough technique in a 3-day session to know the basics.

The Florida Rowing Center, established in 1985, offers single sculling instruction to people of all skill levels. Whether you are a competitive masters sculler, a high school sweep rower, or a person rowing for general recreation and fitness, Florida Rowing Center’s experienced coaches will work with you to refine your sculling technique. Beginners will get a comprehensive introduction to the sport. The only prerequisite for participation is that you have reasonable swimming skills.

Enjoy the perfect aerobic sport in ideal sculling conditions. From our boathouse among the palm trees, you will set out from our docks onto the placid waters of Lake Wellington. No power boats are permitted on the 150-acre lake except for our coaching launches. Our lake is surrounded by private houses and trees, which protect it from excessive wind.

Whatever your sculling ability, the center has quality equipment to meet your needs. Each season we have a fleet of new, top-of-the-line boats. Our fleet includes singles from Hudson, Peinert, Maas, WinTech, and other leading builders. If you are considering purchasing a boat, you have the opportunity to row the shells of various manufacturers and to select the boat best for you. All of our shells are for sale at a discounted price at the end of each season.

The center is a 25-minute drive from Palm Beach and a 20-minute drive from the Palm Beach International Airport.
