City Place: Located in West Palm Beach just east of I-95 on Okeechobee Blvd; Next to the Kravis Center of Performing Arts. Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens: Located south of Linton Road, west of Jog Road in Delray Beach. 200-acre Japanese park features waterfalls, peaceful lakes, and bonsai gardens. (Henry’s restaurant across Jog Road from the entrance in the upscale strip mall is quite good.)
From the North on I-95: I-95 south to Linton Blvd., Delray, travel west for 4 miles to Jog Rd. and turn south (left). Proceed approximately 3/4 miles to Main Museum entrance road (just past traffic lights at Morikami Park Road), follow winding road to museum parking lot.
From the North on Florida's Turnpike: Take the Turnpike south to Delray Beach exit (Atlantic Ave.) and head east approximately 2 miles to Jog Road. Turn south (right) onto Jog Road. Proceed approximately 1-3/4 miles to Main Museum entrance road (just past traffic lights at Morikami Park Road), follow winding road to museum parking lot.

Palm Beach Zoo: Over 600 animals and birds, most native to Florida. The zoo is located east of I-95 on Summit Blvd. 1301 Summit Blvd., West Palm Beach, FL, 33405, 561-547-9453, www.palmbeachzoo.org.
Lion Country Safari: Drive-through wild animal preserve with a variety of big game African animals. Walking areas, as well as, feeding areas available. No convertibles allowed. Allow a minimum of two hours. A KOA campground is adjacent to Lion Country Safari. Airboat rides through the Everglades at the Sawgrass Recreational Park: Exciting 30-minute ride through the Everglades; Located at Sawgrass Recreational Park west of Ft. Lauderdale. Other things to do:
Visit Okeeheelee County Park just a 10-minute drive east of FRC on Forest Hill Blvd. The park is excellent for running, rollerblading, biking, walking, or a picnic. There is also a county golf course there. On the weekend, kayaks, canoes, and paddleboats can be rented. From FRC go right on Forest Hill Blvd, you will cross Route 441, then the road crosses over the Florida Turnpike. After you cross the Florida Turnpike turn left at the first set of lights. The entrance to the park is on your left.
The Village of Wellington Park has good areas for running and biking. There is also a “Peaceful Waters” bird watching boardwalk in the park. The park is located on Pierson Road, about 5 minutes from FRC. From FRC turn right onto Southshore Blvd. in aprox. 2 miles turn left on Pierson Rd. The park is past the equestrian center and will be on your right.
Swim at the Wellington Aquatic Center; located next to the FRC boathouse. Enjoy the heated Olympic-size pool. There is a small entrance fee.
Play tennis at the Wellington Community Center. Tennis Shop is located inside the community center; next to the FRC boathouse.
Fine beaches are located 10 miles east of the Florida Rowing Center. Take Okeechobee Blvd.
